SPARC HISTORY IN THE NEWS
SPARC Robotics:
2025 A Breakout Rookie Year

In 2025, SPARC Robotics reached a major milestone—our first year competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) as a unified Northeast High School team. Often called the Varsity Sport for the Mind™, FIRST Robotics challenges students to design, build, and compete with industrial-scale robots in a fast-paced, real-world engineering environment.

Each January, teams receive the same game challenge and have just six weeks to design, build, program, and test a fully functional robot. Students integrate mechanical design, electronics, software, and teamwork—mirroring professional engineering practice.

Despite limited resources and rookie status, SPARC students delivered an exceptional first season:

  • First Place – Chestnut Hill College Qualifier

  • Rookie All-Star Award – Bensalem High School Event

  • Ranked 56th out of 139 Mid-Atlantic teams

  • 47th Place – Mid-Atlantic Championship at Lehigh Valley

These results are even more impressive given where the team began. Early in the season, the robot was barely functional.

Through rapid iteration and persistence, students took ownership of electronics, fabrication, coding, and systems integration, transforming challenges into progress.

Their journey—captured in our competition vlog—shows not just a robot coming together, but a team discovering what they can achieve under pressure.

Congratulations to all of the members of the Robotics team!
